![]() As good for you today as it's always been... Keep falsehood and lies far from me; give me neither poverty nor riches, but give me only my daily bread. Proverbs 30:8 - NIV Perhaps a forerunner of The Lord's prayer in its simple request for daily bread. Who hasn't dreamt of winning a few million on the lottery? Who hasn't had some form of the nightmare of what it would be like to lose their livelihood and fall into poverty? And yet Jesus tells us not to preoccupy ourselves with material concerns, for God, will provide. Matthew 6:26: "Look at the birds of the air; they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?" We don't yet live in the world that God desires for us. Many still go hungry because of the unjust distribution of wealth and the greed of a handful of leaders. Nevertheless we are asked to be people who do what they can , where they can, to bring forth a new dawn where all have enough. God looks to us. Fr Steve
