Mid-week mini-reflection

My Favourite Words
Jesus answered, It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.’ Matthew 4:4 - NIV
Anyone watching the news at the moment concerning US tariffs would be forgiven if they think that all that matters is money and trade. In the upside down world of Jesus , it is people that matter. Wouldn't it be great if countries competed with one another in areas such as how much they had addressed poverty, sickness, violence and CO2 emissions? 
 In truth, for true followers of Jesus, we are only ever as rich as the poorest and most marginalised member of our community. These are the words that come out of the mouth of Jesus, his favourite words - love, mercy, forgiveness to the repentant, generosity and justice.  Let us pray today that the Lord shows each one of us a way to make the world a better place, where we can and as we can.
