![]() Friends in low places... Whom have I in heaven but you? And earth has nothing I desire besides you. My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever. Psalm 73:25-26 - NIV There's a film coming out soon about the German Pastor, Dietrich Bonhoeffer. I know nothing about the film but I suspect it will focus predominantly on his opposition to the Nazi regime. I would be surprised if it mentioned one of his most famous observations, that is, that we need to be grown up Christains who accept that WE are God's agents in the world. God works in the world through us (God's friends in low places) and therefore people of faith need to ensure that we seek what it is that God would have us do, for God is our strength. The prophet Micah expresses what God would have us do with the spirit that is within our hearts... He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly[a] with your God. (Micah 6:8) Revd Steve
