AGAPE MEAL & SERVICE ![]() Our Agape celebrated Communion as part of a meal. It was held in the Parish Hall to echo the domestic household atmosphere of Communion in the early Church - this proved to be a very successful evening enjoyed by members of both Holy Trinity Elsecar and our Sister Church Worsbrough St Mary's - see the slide show below. Agape (pronounced ag-a-pay) simply means 'love.' Our Agape looked back to the Last Supper. Jesus celebrated this with his disciples just before his arrest. He changed the symbolic meaning of what was probably a Passover Meal and so giving us the Communion Service. May the Lord make Himself known to you through the breaking of bread.
