Lamplight Mission Area
Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path. Psalm 119:105 - NIV
Our new Mission Area (consisting of the parishes which cover the areas of Wentworth, Elsecar, Hoyland, Birdwell and Worsbrough) is now called the Lamplight Mission Area. Of course, it is a nod to the shared mining heritage but, looking forward, it is a reflection of our desire to be beacons of light in our communities. Places where people can come together to experience the love and community which is found in following the Lord. So today, let us pray for the humility to serve and the vision to recognise the good in all we meet this day.
Vision Statement
A welcoming light amidst the tides of modern life
A place where every-one can find love peace and hope
Connecting with the community and one another
A voice and hand to inspire everyone to change their lives

Making sense of life together

Inclusive Church Statement
We believe in inclusive church – a church which celebrates and affirms every person and does not discriminate. We will continue to challenge the church where it continues to discriminate against people on grounds of disability, economic power, ethnicity, gender, gender identity, learning disability, mental health, neurodiversity, or sexuality.
We believe in a Church which welcomes and serves all people in the name of Jesus Christ; which is scripturally faithful; which seeks to proclaim the Gospel afresh for each generation; and which, in the power of the Holy Spirit, allows all people to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Jesus Christ.
